Description

When connected over USB only, inputting text in contracted braille is challenging due to the fact that many contractions are not being interpreted correctly. These often have to do with symbols before words. For example, when typing the word "some" in contracted braille, one must use dot 5 followed by the letter s. Instead of interpreting dot 5 followed by s correctly, it is interpreted as "so". This is the contraction for the letter s by itself. Other examples include father, mother, part, there, their, young and so forth. Unified English braille System and Liblouis as well as U.S. English both system and Liblouis had the same issue.

Steps to reproduce

Connect a compatible braille display through USB and begin typing in contracted braille.
