Description
Some 3rd-party apps or services require access to your Apple Music account to be able to work. An example would be Amazon Alexa, so that you can link your account to an Amazon Echo smart speaker.
A list of apps and services with access is available on the Account settings screen in the Music app.
When not using VoiceOver, it is possible to remove apps and services from this list (thus revoking their access to your account). However, when VoiceOver is enabled, it is not possible to remove an app or service.
Steps to reproduce
- Ensure that one or more apps or services have been given access to your Apple Music account.
- Ensure that VoiceOver is enabled.
- Open the Music app.
- Navigate to the Listen Now tab.
- Double tap with 1 finger on the My Account button that's at the top of this page.
- Scroll down until you locate the “Apps With Access” section.
- Double tap with 1 finger on the Edit button (which should now change to a Done button).
- Move VoiceOver focus through the list of apps/services listed in this section.
- Double tap with 1 finger on the app or service that you wish to remove.
At this point you would expect some feedback from VoiceOver... possibly to confirm that the app or service is now selected.
Instead there is no feedback.
If you now double tap with 1 finger on the Done button, you appear to be taken out of Edit mode. However, the app or service you previously double tapped on is not removed.
Note that there is no support for the VoiceOver rotor or the long press on this list, so there appears to be no alternative method to remove an app or service.
It is also misleading that the UI element for each app or service in this list is reported by VoiceOver as being a button, when it does not appear to actually be one (in that nothing happens if you double tap on it).
Also misleading is that when in edit mode, the Done button is reported by VoiceOver as being “selected”.
Workaround
Another place to check which apps and services currently have access to your Apple Music account is in your iOS device's Settings. Specifically, open Settings > Privacy > Media & Apple Music.
From here it is possible to disable access to your account. However, you may find that some apps or services are not listed in both locations, meaning that there may still be some that you cannot remove or disable.
