Description
After using “More” from the VoiceOver rotor's Action menu on a notification, VoiceOver users can locate when swiping UI elements which are not present visually on screen and do not behave as expected. Typically, this will be other UI elements which are on the Lock Screen or Notification Center such as notifications or playback controls. When double tapping on one of these ‘phantom’ UI elements, instead of performing the expected behavior, the interactive view of the selected notification will be dismissed.
Steps to reproduce
- Ensure that VoiceOver is enabled.
- Navigate to either the Lock Screen or Notification Centre.
- Place VoiceOver focus on to any notification.
- Ensure that the VoiceOver rotor is set to its Action menu.
- Flick up with 1-finger repeatedly until VoiceOver announces “More.
- Double tap with 1-finger.
- Swipe right/left on the resulting screen to move VoiceOver focus through all UI elements.
You would expect VoiceOver focus to only move through UI elements which are visually present on screen.
What actually happens is that VoiceOver focus will behave as if all UI elements that were on the previous screen (either the Lock Screen or Notification Centre) are also still visually present on screen.
However, if you double tap with 1-finger on any of these UI elements which you would expect to be actionable (such as the Play button when the playback controls are amongst the ‘rogue’ elements), the ‘More’ screen is dismissed.
