The Mac App Directory is Now Live

By David Goodwin, 12 December, 2011

I'm pleased to announce that you can now submit Mac apps to the AppleVis website.

The operation and structure of the Mac App Directory is very similar to the existing directory for iOS apps, and submitting apps is just as quick and easy.

When you visit the Submit Content page, you will now see an additional option to post to the Mac App Directory. The information required when submitting an app is mostly the same as for iOS apps, although for now we have chosen to have only a single rating, the one which indicates the overall usability of the app. The rating system can be extended at a later stage if necessary.

When submitting a Mac app, please use the available text field to provide specific accessibility information, particularly anything that you think would be helpful to other users of the app.

Alerts of new posts to the Mac App Directory will be posted to the AppleVis4Mac account on Twitter.

There is also a dedicated RSS feed for the Mac App Directory.

The only thing missing right now are some actual Mac apps!

As I have said before, I am not a Mac user. So, if you are, please take just a few minutes to post some apps and get things started. If nothing else, this will give me an opportunity to check that everything is working as it should be <smile>

Of course, if you do encounter any problems, please be sure to let us know via the Contact page.
