We're thrilled to announce that the voting for the 2023 inductees into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame is now open, marking the twelfth year of this esteemed event. Our Hall of Fame is a way for our community to honor developers who are committed to making their apps fully accessible to blind and low vision users. The inductees transform lives, empower individuals, provide invaluable information, and bring joy and entertainment to users. They represent the very best in accessible iOS applications, and we are excited to have the AppleVis community select the next inductees.
In order to be eligible for induction, an app must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be fully accessible to blind and low vision users
- Come from a developer who has demonstrated a long-term commitment to full accessibility of their app(s)
- Demonstrate excellence in design, functionality, and operation
- Have been available in the App Store and fully accessible for a significant period of time
- Be under active development
In short, the Hall of Fame showcases the best of the best in accessible iOS applications, as decided by the AppleVis community.

Nominees
Below are the nominees for the 2023 induction into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame. The two nominees with the highest number of votes will be inducted.
Apollo for Reddit
Apollo is an award-winning Reddit app that offers a sleek and user-friendly interface for browsing and engaging with the Reddit community. With a variety of customization options, including a dark mode and different font styles, Apollo allows users to tailor their Reddit experience to their preferences. The app also includes features such as quick access to popular subreddits, advanced search options, and the ability to save posts and comments for later viewing.

Backpack Studio
Backpack Studio is a professional-level audio recording and production app. It offers a range of tools and features that allow users to create high-quality recordings, edit and mix audio, and add effects and music to their projects. The app includes a range of built-in virtual instruments and drum machines, as well as support for external MIDI devices. Backpack Studio also includes advanced features such as multi-track recording, automation, and support for third-party plugins.

Evidence 111
Evidence 111 is a detective audio game. Set in the small town of Farnham, England, in 1985, players take on the role of Chief Inspector Alice Wells who receives a mysterious phone call while on duty. The game features outstanding voice acting performances and is created in binaural audio, making it blind-friendly. Players use intuitive swipe gestures to control the game and can choose their own path, resulting in up to 10 alternate endings.
GoodMaps Explore
GoodMaps Explore offers accurate indoor and outdoor information and navigation for people who are blind or visually impaired. The app provides location-aware updates on immediate surroundings, including customizable location notifications such as current direction, nearest room, street, and points of interest. Users can save any POI as a favorite and create their own outdoor favorite POIs, and set them as a destination for quick access. The app also offers indoor directions for independent travel and a Lookaround feature that provides direction-based discovery of nearby POIs. Additionally, users can access virtual mode to explore the surroundings of a specific POI before physically going there. GoodMaps Explore also offers integration with Be My Eyes for live visual assistance and the ability to sign in to access restricted buildings.

ReVision Fitness

The app includes beginner and advanced levels, options for working out with music and without, and provides general guides and schedules for various fitness goals.

Supersense uses audio feedback to describe the objects and text it detects, allowing users to understand their surroundings without relying on sight. The app also includes customizable settings and support for multiple languages.

Swordy Quest: An RPG Adventure

Doing so will present you with a text field where you can enter the name of an app or game that is your personal choice for induction. Please carefully consider whether it satisfies the requirements set out above and view the list of existing inductees to ensure that your choice hasn't already been inducted.
Contest Rules and How to Cast Your Vote
Voting is open to all blind and low vision members of our community who are not employees of any of the shortlisted developers. Only one vote per person is permitted. To cast your vote, you will need to be logged in to the AppleVis website. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one now, and then come back to this page to cast your vote. The voting form is at the end of this post, but it will only be displayed to logged-in users.
