AnonyMouse's App Pick of the Month: CurbToCar

CurbToCar is an accessibility-focused app designed to help blind and low-vision users locate their ride using an iPhone camera. With features like object detection, real-time tracking, audio feedback, and distance estimation, it focuses on a very specific but meaningful challenge: identifying the right vehicle during pickup.

What makes CurbToCar stand out is its practical purpose. While many AI tools can describe images, read text, and identify objects, this app is centered on one real-world moment that can often feel awkward, frustrating, or uncertain. Rather than trying to do everything, it focuses on solving a single everyday problem in a way that feels thoughtful and useful.

That is why CurbToCar takes the spotlight as this month’s App Pick of the Month. Co-designed with blind users through the MIT Assistive Tech Club, it stands out as a smart, focused accessibility tool with real potential to make ride pickup more confident and independent. Read more about CurbToCar here.
