Notable App Updates
Baby Adopter Pro (iOS/iPadOS, US$5.99)
Baby Adopter Pro is a much faster, easier and ad-free standalone version of the Baby Adopter game!
How does Baby Adopter Pro differ from the free Baby Adopter?
The Baby Adopter Pro game:
- Doesn't have any advertising or in app products.
- Pro version earns more points for each action, each feeding, each egg crack in egg hunt and each completed level in mini games than the free game.
- Pro version has more levels in mini games than the free version of the game.
- Pro version has significantly less waiting time between actions, feeding, cracking eggs in hunting for eggs.
Baby Adopter is a babysitting, nursery and dress up game for people who love to take care of little babies.
Adopt and feed a cute little baby!
- Feed, buy clothes, shoes and toys and take care.
- You have to feed your baby when hungry. The baby has to be with energy equivalent of 30. And do not let your baby get sick... This is the goal of Baby Adopter.
- Another goal is to explore and purchase items for the Baby Room, Bathroom, Playground, Playroom, Family Room, Game Center and Zoo and purchase all the toys.
- Another goal is to hunt, find, collect and complete the collection of mini trophy creatures. You need to look for eggs, hunt, crack and hatch and finally own creatures which are inside the eggs. The eggs can be found randomly in different game locations. Need to wait after each crack in order to proceed with the following crack. The egg will be hatched after 3 cracks. The egg which was cracked once can be found in the same location.
Support for VoiceOver in Egg Match mini game: when you tap inside a grid VoiceOver will tell which egg is currently selected, its color and position within the grid. This way it is possible to scan the eggs in the grid. In order to move an egg you need to double tap it and keep your finger pressed against screen until you hear a release sound; then while your finger is still pressed against the screen move it and the egg will move.
Karma represents your overall game progress and player experience. The baby will grow after 100 days of age (after acquiring clothes and shoes).
Current Version: 4.08.1 (January 20, 2023)
Changes in Version 4.08.1

Seeing AI (iOS/iPadOS, Free)
Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the world around you. Designed with and for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world by describing nearby people, text and objects.
Seeing AI provides tools to assist with a variety of daily tasks:
- Short Text - Speaks text as soon as it appears in front of the camera.
- Documents - Provides audio guidance to capture a printed page, and recognizes the text, along with its original formatting.
- Products - Scans barcodes, using audio beeps to guide you; hear the name, and package information when available.
- People - Saves people’s faces so you can recognize them, and get an estimate of their age, gender, and expression.
- Currency - Recognizes currency notes.
- Scenes - Hear an overall description of the scene captured. Explore the photo by moving your finger over the screen to hear the location of different objects.
- World - An Audio Augmented Reality experience to explore an unfamiliar environment, including hearing objects announced around you with Spatial Audio (requires a device with a LiDAR, and iOS 14+).
- Indoor Navigation - Available on the World Channel, enables you to create routes through a building, like "entrance to classroom", and navigate by following the sound.
- Colors - Identifies colors.
- Handwriting - Reads handwritten text like in greeting cards (available in a subset of languages).
- Light - Generates an audible tone corresponding to the brightness in the surroundings.
- Images in other apps - Just tap “Share” and “Recognize with Seeing AI” to describe images from Mail, Photos, Twitter, and more.
- Browse Photos - Hear descriptions of photos saved on your device.
Current Version: 5.0 (January 30, 2023)
Changes in Version 5.0
- Indoor Navigation, available on iOS 14 and later, enables you to create routes through a building, and later follow that route, guided by spatial audio cues. For example, create a route from the reception desk to your office, or building entrance to a particular classroom. You can share the route with others, so they can navigate the route later on, using their own device.
- On the World Channel, when using headphones which support Spatial Audio, you no longer need to look in the direction of the camera. Seeing AI will adjust to the direction you’re looking, so sounds still come from the correct point in the room. Supported headphones include AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro.
- Improved announcements of people on the World Channel, when using a device with LiDAR.
- Plus, various bug fixes under the hood.

- Easily search a central knowledge base that automatically indexes and archives your team’s past conversations and files
- Customize your notifications so you stay focused on what matters
Current Version: 23.01.40 (January 25, 2023)
Changes in Version 23.01.40
- Fixed: Recording an audio clip with VoiceOver on caused the screen reader to switch to the wrong speaker, making it very quiet and hard to understand. This was the opposite of accessibility, and we’re very sorry for the trouble.
- You can multitask, and so can we. Video clips can now be minimized into a smaller window, allowing you to continue playback while working at a steady clip.
- Fixed: We weren’t recognizing strings of emoji at the end of messages, meaning that any pictographic postscripts were nowhere to be found. Wordle fans may breathe a sigh of relief.

We don’t know yet if Mastodon will be the next big thing. We also have no intention of closing down our AppleVis Twitter accounts. However, like many, we’ve grown increasingly uncomfortable with the direction Twitter is heading. Mastodon gives us somewhere new to explore and an opportunity to expand the places we connect with members of our community.
