We are pleased to announce that our Community has chosen Blind Drive and Dolphin EasyReader to be this year's inductees into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame.
First opened in 2011, the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame showcases and acknowledges the passion and hard work that app developers put into creating great iOS apps that are fully accessible to VoiceOver users. These apps place powerful tools and inclusive experiences into the palms of our hands, and give access to services, information, media or entertainment that the sighted world typically takes for granted.
To be eligible for induction into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame, an app must:
- Be fully accessible to blind and low vision users;
- Be from a developer with a demonstrated and long-term commitment to full accessibility of their app(s);
- Demonstrate excellence in design, functionality and operation;
- Have been available in the App Store and fully accessible for a significant period of time; and
- Be under active development.
In short, ourHall of Fame represents the best of the best in accessible iOS applications, as decided by the AppleVis community.
Past inductees into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame include A Blind Legend, BARD Mobile, BlindSquare, MBraille, Overcast, Seeing AI, TapTapSee, Timecrest, Twitterrific: Tweet Your Way, Voice Dream Reader, and Weather Gods. The full list of inductees can be found on the Hall of Fame page.
Voting for the 2022 inductions was held from May 22, 2022 through May 27, 2022. Voting was open to all blind and low vision members of our community who did not have any affiliation with the app they were voting for.
About the 2022 AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame Inductees
Blind Drive
Blind Drive is an audio-based, black comedy arcade action game.
You’re blindfolded and going against traffic. Cars rushing past, angry drivers yelling at you. Cops on your tail. And you can’t see a thing. Can you do it?
The entire game is experienced through your ears. Play as Donnie, trying to make a quick buck in a scientific study but quickly finding himself in over his head, cuffed to the wheel and driving blindfolded. Plus he’s late for dinner with Grandma.

Dolphin EasyReader
EasyReader is a FREE accessible reading app for readers with dyslexia, low vision or blindness. Browse & download from the World's largest collection of talking book and newspaper libraries. Or copy text from anywhere on your phone & hear EasyReader read it back to you. Experience perfectly synchronized text & audio. Or for text only titles, EasyReader can add a human sounding voice of your choice. Boost comfort or contrast - choose colours, text size and highlights to suit your visual needs.
Make your books' text as big as your eyes require. Unlike other mainstream reading apps, there's no restriction with EasyReader. Zoom in with a standard 2 finger pinch or make fine adjustments with the simple sliders. There's never any blurry text or fuzzy fonts - your books' words are always crystal clear and always easy on the eye.
Navigate your books or newspapers by skipping directly to specific pages or headings. Search your book for words or phrases. Add text bookmarks or record your own audio bookmarks and return to them with ease.
EasyReader is fully optimized for use with iOS VoiceOver and iOS supported Braille displays.

Congrats to the winners
Congrats to the winners. I don't have Dolphin Easy Reader but I have Blind Drive and love it.
Opposite on my End
I don't have Blind Drive but have Easy Reader. I've used it a little bit and like it a lot. I cannot wait for Bookshare to release their iOS app to the masses. I was told by an employee of the company that their app would be configured to work with Dolphin Easy Reader. I think I can safely say that because I'm not talking about beta software here. I'm not a member of BookShare's beta team, so therefore haven't had access to the new app yet. I am however, newly enrolled in Dolphin's beta program but haven't had time to test new features.
