Apple has today released watchOS 8.1.1. This appears to be an extremely minor update to fix a single issue with charging on the Series 7 Apple Watch.
Apple's release notes for watchOS 8.1.1 simply say:
watchOS 8.1.1 fixes an issue where Apple Watch Series 7 may not charge as expected for some users.
As this update appears to have been released to address a specific issue, our expectation is that it does not contain any accessibility changes for blind and low vision users; however, if you notice any changes, improvements or regressions in your own use of watchOS 8.1.1, please post a comment below with your findings.
Our understanding is that because of its very specific purpose, watchOS 8.1.1 is only available for the Series 7 Apple Watch.
watchOS 8.1.1 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update) or by going to the Watch app on your iPhone and navigating to General> Software Update. To install the update, your Watch must be connected to its charger and have at least 50% battery power.
More information on how to update the software on your Apple Watch is available on this Apple Support page.

Was this update just for the series 7?
Hi,
I have a series 6, and did not see this update. Does that mean it was only released for the series 7?
