Alright, so with this new update, I was just curious if it was worth updating from Mojave to Catalina?

I've kept hearing bad stories of issues on Catalina, which is why I've kept my Mac on Mojave and haven't updated it yet.

Just curious if it's worth updating or am I better off staying on Mojave? Thanks!

t wgat stories have you herd about Catalina? as a public beta tester, it really hasn't been that bad accepts for the applescriot and VoiceOver, but that was fixt earlier on in the public releese.

Haven't used earlier versions of Mac OS so I dunno if this is the norm but Braille input is still utter garbage. Guess my Focus will remain tethered to my Windows machine.

I hopes it finally fix the invert colour keyboard shortcut not working after the computer is in sleep mode for a couple of hours bug. This one is present since 10.14.0.

I don't really recall the stories, I just recall users saying that it wasn't worth upgrading yet and to remain on Mojave for now.

My Mac is the only hardware that I haven't updated yet, everything else has been updated.

On a side note, I did notice that in Watch OS 6.2, when you're on either the Mickey or Minnie watch faces, now when you tap on either character, you hear their voices again reading out the time.

In previous itterations of Watch OS 6, when you tapped on either character, VoiceOver would read out the time and if you wanted to hear their voices, you had to turn off VoiceOver and do a two-finger tap and hold. Glad to hear that they're fixing some bugs at least.

Alright, so I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my Mac to Catalina, and all seems alright.

I did notice a small thing though that perplexes me though. Since upgrading, when I bring VoiceOver focus to System Preferences, in either the Apple menu or on my dock, I'm told there's an update available. I've gone to the Software Updates and it tells me that my Mac is up-to-date.

I'm left scratching my head as to why my Mac seems to think there's an update when it appears there are none. I've gone through every icon in System Preferences to see if one of those might have a badge, or something, letting me know of a possible update, but nothing.

I've also checked my printer to see if the drivers required updating, and before checking my printer manufacturer's website, thought of testing my printer and all works fine.

So I'm left stumped. Has anyone out there encountered something similar, or might have a suggestion as to what I could do. I've checked the App Store as well to see if there were any updates, and none were there. I know that App Store updates and OS updates are two different things, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to check.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

2 things actually: I can navigate with quick nav on, but nothing works with it off. This means I can't nav. through emails. And, when I type in edit fields like this one, the characters don't echoe so I know what I'm typing. Help!
