Apple has today released iOS 10.0.3 for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users.
The release notes via 9to5Mac for iOS 10.0.3 are:
- Fixes bugs including an issue where some users could temporarily lose cellular connectivity.
According to 9to5Mac the specifics of this problem are:
Today’s update should resolve some cell network connectivity issues our readers have also been reporting. We recently wrote about reports on poor phone quality with Verizon where users were experiencing incoming calls where the audio seemed distant. T-Mobile customers themselves had issues with cell network connections during the original iOS 10 launch where they even recommended customers to hold off on upgrading.
It is not known at the time of posting whether this release includes any changes for blind or low vision users , but our expectation is that we will have to wait for iOS 10.1 to see any progress in addressing the outstanding accessibility-related bugs in iOS.
As always, please let us know of any accessibility-related changes that you encounter in this release by adding a comment below.
iOS 10.0.3 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings>General>Software Update) or via iTunes. As always, we recommend making a backup of your device before installing any iOS update.
Comments
just so everyone knows...
This update is only for iPhone 7 and 7 plus users, so if you don't have an iPhone 7 you won't see this update. To test this I checked for an update on my iPad Minnie 4th gen and no software update was present. It did show up on my iPhone 7 and I've updated. No accessibility problems that I can tell.
T-Mobile customers
the inconvenience for some T-Mobile customers
n issue where some users could temporarily lose cellular connectivity.
is only regarding to series of iPhone 6 and 6Plus
the workaround to get Data and service connectivity
is rebooting the device I don't know if the iOS 10.02 fix something for T Mobile iPhone 6 and 6 plus users
Personally I have an iPhone 6S on T Mobile and do not have those issues.
Update not working
not worked here in the UK. I have requested the update and get as far as 'update requested' before I am informed that 'software update failed'. It may be that the server is busy at the moment, but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem. Using an iPhone 7 for the avoidance of doubt.
yeah, wait a while
Yep, the servers may be jammed so keep trying. The update is a small one, around 75 mb so it should not take too long to download. the installation time is probably the same, though, so be ready for that. :)
