Apple has today launched an updated 13-inch MacBook Pro featuring the Magic Keyboard, 10th-generation processors, double the storage across all standard configurations, and 16GB of memory standard on select configurations.
The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro features the Magic Keyboard which was first introduced on the 16-inch MacBook Pro last year and added to MacBook Air in March; and which has a redesigned scissor mechanism with 1mm of key travel.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro lineup now offers up to 10th-generation quad-core Intel Core processors with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.1GHz. According to Apple, anybody upgrading from a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a dual-core processor will see up to 2.8 times faster performance.
16GB of faster 3733MHz memory is now offered as a standard configuration on select models, and for the first time on a 13-inch Mac notebook, buyers can choose a 32GB memory option.
As with the previous model, the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro comes with the Apple T2 Security Chip, which checks that software loaded during the boot process has not been tampered with and provides on-the-fly data encryption for everything stored on the SSD. The T2 also protects Touch ID information.
All the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro models come with the Touch Bar seen on the previous generation, but now also have a physical escape key like the 16-inch model.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro screen is the same as the previous model, at a resolution of 2560 x 1600, at 227 pixels per inch, 500 nits brightness, with wide color support and True Tone technology.
Like the Mac mini refresh in March, the 13-inch MacBook Pro now comes with double the storage of the previous generation, with standard storage starting at 256GB and going all the way up to4TB.
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is available for order from today with prices starting at US$1299 for an eighth generation i5 1.4GHz quad-core processor with Turbo Boost speed up to 3.9GHz, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

Sounds like a great update
Sounds like a great update for Mac users. As an owner of the 16 in model, I can't say I'm a fan of the new magic keyboard, but hey at least it won't break in 3 months. Nice to see them upping the storage minimums as well. I know a lot of content is online nowadays, but 128 gigs simply isn't enough on a laptop. 256 feels much more comfy.
These are strange times. Apple's released a cheap phone, and they're actually (partially) listening to customers now.

i have a macbook pro from 2012 with 8 gigs of ram. this sounds like a much needed update, especially with the standard storage going from 128 gigs to 256 gigs right? I also liked that thy've added back the escape key.
