First impression: Wow! An app that gives me lots of data to read on my Apple Watch. If only the News app, along with some major newspapers, would give us this much information. Now, give me a day or two and I may share my second impression. So far, great!

I'm also loving this app. Here's to a complication and an NFB newsline Apple Watch app!

OK, my second impression: Wow again. I just turned off my iPhone, so that my Apple Watch could not pair with it, and then tried retrieving Wikipedia articles from my watch. It worked! So far, this is thrilling for an info junkie like myself. Fingers crossed that I still feel the same way in another day or two. I love it when my Apple Watch gathers data without help from the phone. Later today, I will test this app remotely without the iPhone and with only a cellular connection.

I love it when an Apple Watch does something I really want... Yesterday, I turned off my iPhone, left it at home, and we went driving. I tried to access Wikipedia with this app over only cellular connectivity on the Apple Watch. It worked, and I am thrilled with its capabilities. It is a wonderful way to learn something new when out and about. Independent Apple Watch apps are a joy!

So mmy question is, can I use this app with my IPhone 7? Or do I need a watch to interface with?
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, the utility of this really cool app does require the Apple Watch. I am not aware of any way to use the app on the iPhone to access Wikipedia.

However, as an Apple Watch app, I am still using it on a near daily basis. I especially enjoy looking at the list of "Most Read" articles, generally finding links to newsworthy topics. The app has a few short-comings that I can easily deal with. For instance, after VoiceOver reads a full screen of text, the app will stop and you will have to swipe right to get it to read the next chunk of text. I also have noticed that particularly long articles sometimes seem to end abruptly, so I wrote the developer. The developer said that they were limited to a 10,000 character buffer to store the story, so really long articles might not be complete. Even so, that is still a long chunk of text that you can read on your Apple Watch.

The developer asks for a little bit of money to support their efforts, and I was pleased to help. I really do enjoy this Apple Watch app. It has a special place on my Apple Watch dock.
