Completely redesigned from the ground up for iOS 8 and with usability in mind, SimpleMic takes advantage of the entire screen to provide gesture based controls atop a beautifully presented user interface. Swipe left or right to start recording and you'll instantly be treated to a vivid glowing level meter as the microphone captures crystal clear audio. Swipe up or down to reveal three different recording modes, each taylor made for specific real-world situations. Ever needed to start recording as soon as the band starts playing or the lecturer speaks? "Sound Activated" mode will quietly wait until the microphone picks up enough sound, then will quickly start recording, even capturing audio from a few seconds prior to make sure you get a perfect recording every time. Things I've noticed
Just played with this app a little.
When in the recordings list, the play button only appears to be active for the first selected recording. Delete the recording, or select another one, and the play button seems to vanish until you go back and re-open the recordings list.
Also, sharing to other apps and uploading is only available in the premium version, which is an in-app purchase. So this app is free, seemingly only if you want to record and save the recordings in the app, doing nothing else.

Regarding upgrade, I think the additional price is worth it for the extra functionality.

Play Button Issue
I purchased the premium version of this app and am experiencing the same reported issue with the play button. Also have not located the audio quality settings control. I have contacted the vendor but have not yet received a response. Would be nice to see these issues resolved as this appears to be a very useful app.

Not perfect, but it definitely has potential. I bought it just to support another dev who recognizes how easy it can be to make an app accessible.

I use ht recording and tw recorder. I might try simple mic again, although have so many apps in my tool belt that do the same thign there's no point. I'll probably loose track of where I put it in my organised mess. Lol!

The developer has also been very responsive to the feedback regarding adding new VO specific features.

a few observations and a few questions
A very quick question. Someone used simple mic to record a message and upload to someone's facebook messenger thing. I cannot figure out how to do this. And the app is easy to use to. Lol. Any advice here?
One other observation. I locked the screen And the recording stopped. Is it possible to record in the background? Just a suggestion.
update: I found and enabled message. I had to click the second more button from the bottom. Anyway doing that shows me a screen saying I have to log in to send messages. I have no clue what that tmeans, as I'm already logged in to facebook messenger. Do I enable this through the settings app on iOs? I'm guessing so. Except I can't find a place to do this. I'm a bit stumped, and I should not be as I know I'll kick myself after I find out how to do this. Googling is not helping either here, not this time.

An awesome observation about simple mic
Hi,
I just discovered this app and really love it! The thing that I love the most is when I have a wired headset and I'm listening to music, it doesn't stop the music when I make a recording. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the ability to listen to music while making a recording is virtually unheard of in iPhone recording apps. Now that I can make recordings and keep music playing, I think I will use the simple mic app on a regular basis.

Interesting If I put the app in the background for me it stops recording. I love the app but only use it for short things where I can keep the app in the foreground.

Background Recording
Hi KE7ZUM,
I am using SimpleMic on my iPod Touch, and recording continues when the app is in the background.
One thing that I have done is turned on Background App Refresh in General Settings.
SimpleMic doesn't have an entry in the Background App Refresh list, but having it on seems to rectify the issue.

apple watch question
Does this app record from the apple watch mic or does it just act as a remote for the iPhone telling the iPhone to record using it's own mic? Thanks and hope this makes sense.
Some help needed
Hello.
I bought this app both to use for jam sessions and wonder a few things.
The first thing is: when in the no motion and the sound activated, it doesn’t make a sound when recording.
2 - is there a way to get into the settings? I find a little help button in the top right of the screen but I cannot find a settings button.
3 - is the apple watch accessible? I just wonder and I think it can record on the watch now but I can use it as a remote if I can.

Sadly, no. however, since it sends all recordings to iCloud, you can import the file to your preferred audio editor e.g. reaper, and edit the file their. hth.
