FaceBook

Description of App

I had been off of FaceBook for years pretty much, but today I spent literally 10 minutes in the latest app on IOS26.5 and, to say that I was frustrated with FaceBook is to say nothing! It’s reached its rock bottom! I’ve used FaceBook since the early 2014 and I’ve never seen it that laggy and inaccessible! First off, I can’t give any reaction to posts, accept for a like.
Second, After scrolling through couple posts, voiceover suddenly takes me to the very 1st post in my feed, it happened twice for 10 minutes today.
Third, Voiceover can read a post while its cursor would secretly jump to another post. That’s exactly how I wrote a comment under the wrong post. Thank god I saw I posted it under the wrong post.
P.s. Reminding you that I didn’t have any chance to do on FaceBook for these 10 minutes, that’s all I was doing. Whatever I was doing was glichy or inaccessible.
I don’t know if Apple Vis can collect our complains and send them to FaceBook or not.
P.p.s. It sends me into a spiral. A lot of things accessibility-wise are crumbling right before my eyes.
I don’t know whether it is due to a lot of lay-offs in accessibility (if there are some), or it’s due to most people who’re not willing to take any responsibility in 2026…. Please proove me wrong, I have a desire to stay positive….

First, it is still usable. It’s not like it’s not accessible at all. I’m still interacting with my groups, reacting to posts and commenting on posts as well as making posts. The accessibility rating for this app is completely false, plus the app description is not a description of the app. Not only that, but you posted two other threads in regards to the same issue. Why is that? Not to sound rude or anything I’m just confused as to what’s happening here.

You’re absolutely right. Once upon a time, the Facebook is very accessible. I have read all the posts and comments. I am spending a lot of time.. but right now the Facebook app is completely irritating. I can’t able to use properly at least 10 minutes.. the main problem is cursor, jumping scrolling and inaccessible. We hope the Facebook team will solve this problem shortly and make accessible with VoiceOver.

Hi all,

We already have an AppleVis iOS App Directory entry for Facebook here: https://www.applevis.com/apps/ios/social-networking/facebook

It is our long-standing policy to allow only one app entry per app to be posted to the App Directory, mainly so as to keep things organized and have information in one place. We encourage all interested community members to post their comments to the existing Facebook app entry.

This topic is now closed and will be removed presently.
