Bright Guide - messenger

Description of App

Bright Guide is a convenient messenger designed specifically for blind people and working with the Voice Over screen access program. The Bright Guide application allows you to send text and voice messages, images and documents, as well as subscribe to popular channels in Telegram.

In the interface of the Bright Guide application, all the buttons are conveniently located, there are no extra headers and not always necessary notifications, which are often found when using Voice Over.

We also thought out and added some convenient features that can please users:

— In order not to return to the "Back" button every time, you can double-click on the screen of the phone with two fingers. This activates the "Back" button in all places of the application

— By sending a voice message, you can always listen to it before sending it, overwrite it or simply delete it

— Being in the chat with a user, scrolling up or down, you can select the function you need for further action

— We also developed a special search system “Alphabetical Index”. It allows you to search quickly through your contacts by the first letter of the name or surname with Voice Over. For example, choosing the letter "B", you activate the search for users whose first or last name begins with the letter "B"

Perhaps in the process of using the application, you will have questions, suggestions or just comments that you want to share with us. You can always contact us in the support service section!

Hi Ming,

Yes, this is a message client for Telegram. So, essentially you can use this to communicate with your friends on Telegram.

I am using this app on an iPad. It is a great app. I do have a question regarding the sequence of messages. The latest message seems to appear prior to the original message. In other words, I see the latest message first and then prior messages. Is this normal behavior?

By KE7ZUM on Monday, August 24, 2020 - 10:07

If you read in reverse, yes it should be. If you don't read in reverse no, this isnot normal.

Can you invite people to telegram with this app? If not, does anyone know how on earth you make that work in the main app?

By JC on Monday, August 24, 2020 - 10:07

I just downloaded the app, and it's an awesome app. very easy and simple to use. also, thanks Thomas for the amazing review on the app, I'm now using the it.

Hi, i have a problem with Bright Guide amp, i am blind user" from israel, and my main language for my iPhone is Hebrew. I can't use this ap because Voice Over dosn't read the Hebrew in Bright Guide app. in other places it works fine, but here it dosn't wolking as expected. The Hebrew Text To Speach dosn't read annything I wrote to the support team, but i did got anser.

This is a great app in theory, but you are required to pay for actual messaging functionality. You can receive messages without paying but as far as sending them goes, good luck doing that without the purchase. Paying for something to use as a workaround for a completely free app is a rip off and the telegram app still is usable.

Hi,
This is a great app as well. as far as paying for Voice Messaging goes, i don't find that an issue at all. I could just pay for it and continue. besides, I'm fine with the dictation feature for now, but once I pay for the Voice Messaging feature, I'll be able to review and send voice messages, in a simpler way. also, I have tried the telegram app itself, but the interface was a bit complex, making it harder for me to use. with Bright Guide, the interface is simpler and easy to use. much easier than the official telegram app, in my opinion.

Have any of you guys notice that when you log into bright guide with your number, that it crashes? that is my problem, I wonder how to fix this.

not me, when I log-in, it works just fine.

By Darren Hartland on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 - 10:07

When I double tap the button to pay for voice messaging I just get dumped to my phone home screen. When I go back into the app it's just on the app's main screen.

I am willing to pay for the convenience and simplicity that Bright Guide offers, if only the app woudl let me pay lol.

Hi!
No sence the app is enough old.
Cheers!

I recently got iPad Air 4th gen and found out that the native Telegram client is almost unusable on this device. So Bright Guide, althou limited in functionality, is still a valid alternative for some people.

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 10:07

Hi!
The key word is "almost".
We can use telegram though I see, it would be better.
Cheers!

So far the only thing I could do with Telegram on my iPad is to view my chat list with the last messages for a particular chat, group chat or channel. I don't see any way to open a particular chat or channel to view rest of messages. I I recieve a message I am not able to reply to it even when I open it from the notification area.
So, instead of beeing sarcastic, it would be much better if you could share your experience here or in a separate forum topic.

Hi!
Try in iPhone!
You can locate your finger on the definite message.
If you don't have this device it is the other thing.
If you won't be able to locate your finger on the message, I don't know, I can.
And the best solution is to code a new app, moreover, API is open.
Cheers!

very lemetted, specially with arabic support, can not read any arabic messages,.

By Ramy on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 10:07

THis APp became better and better, but with SOme users like me who is using the IOs Interface in english, but has messages in arabic, there is an issue here.
If am reading using the english voice, Only alex that can read the arabic but letter by letter, which is very bad for sure.
but if i switch the VO language to arabic, i can read the arabic text, but the arabic voice will read the english content which i can not understand it at all.
If you have a solution let me know, and if not. i sent to the developper, but did not get any confirmation that i sent something.
let's see.

I prefer using the native telligram app over bright guide messenger. Bright guide messenger is very clunky and most of its paid features, like voice messages are free in tellegram.

By fatih on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 10:07

I also prefer to use the native telegram client over bright guide. I saw an unigram app on the app store but didn't try it.
Perhaps if you have issues with the native telegram client, you can try that out.

Hi and assSalamu aleikom!
There is no problem in the Russian localization.
I can read Arabic, Chinese, English and Russian.
But I cannot read French Because English and French and Turkish have the same writing system.
And I cannot read Chinese and Japanese at the same time because the Chinese Characters are matching with the Japanese.
If I want to read French or Turkish or Japanese instead Chinese I am choosing in rotor these languages.
If you didn't add languages to your rotor You cannot switch between languages.
Cheers and ma'a salama.

Since this is a telegram client, can I deleate telegram from my phone? I mean since telegram is... confusing as hell and not user friendly; at all; and I don't use it because i'm using this app instead of it; can I deleate it from my device and just keep bright guide, or do I have to keep both for bright guide to work? Love the app though.
Also, can you voicecall / videocall someone with bright guide? Or its not possible?

By Igna Triay on Friday, September 24, 2021 - 10:07

Running the latest ios version on iphone 12. Whenever I press on the, ok, to buy the voicechat feature... the app just... crashes, and takes me back to the homescreen for some reason.
Edit: anyone else having support problems? When I try sending a message to support in settings, it literally doesn't let me send it. Anything I do, any button I press, it just says, double press to activate. I even tried doing a secondary activate on this but no luck, which is odd, because on regular chats, I can press send etc without problems like this.
Ok, checked out telegram again, and it seems to have improved a lot accessibility a bunch, to the point where its usable and friendly to use.

So I fixed the issue of not being able to pay to use the voice message functionality only for several of my friends having another issue.

In some groups, they cannot send either voice or text messages, the options when swiping down are simply not there. The only options available to them are Delete, Share, forward and Activate.

Note it doesn't happen in all groups even though others can access full functions in the same groups, it doesn't make sense and is very frustrating.

According to the app store it was updated 9 months ago and they're certainly still accepting payments for the voice message functionality.

By Usman on Sunday, October 24, 2021 - 10:07

In reply to by Darren Hartland

Accepting payments is no grounds in determining whether a developer has given up on an app. I've seen apps that were last updated 3 years ago that still accept in app subscription payments.
Based on the fact that there was no update in nine months, the developer isn't responding to any query about the app and there's been no communication happening, I'm inclined to think this app is done. Thank goodness I didn't waste my money supporting them if they are just going to abandon it.
Let's hope I'm wrong.

Hi! I've just installed Bright Guide, as I couldn't do much with the official Telegram app after creating an account in it. Unfortunately, when I tried to log in after opening Bright Guide, it wouldn't accept my French phone number: the country code is definitely correct, that came up automatically in the app, but, every time I tried to put in my mobile phone number without the country code as instructed, I was told it was incorrect, when I definitely know it wasn't. Does anyone have any tips on how I can solve this problem? Should I include the 0 at the beginning of my number as I would normally do when giving it to a French person, or should I leave that 0 out? I tried both ways, but no luck, I still got an incorrect number message each time. Thanks in advance for any replies if you can help.

By Darren Hartland on Sunday, April 24, 2022 - 10:07

the correct format, using the UK as the example.

By Clare Page on Sunday, April 24, 2022 - 10:07

Thanks, Darren, for the correct format of the number, which worked for me. However, I have had further problems with the Bright Guide app after filling in my phone number: it wouldn't accept the verification code I was sent, which I knew was correct, and the app keeps crashing every minute or two on my iPhone SE 2020 anyway. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, I don't feel that Bright Guide is a practical alternative to the native Telegram IOS app for me. If Bright Guide works fine for everyone else reading this, that's great, and enjoy using it if does!

I wish this app could work with Facebook as well, since the accessibility of the Facebook app is quickly becoming a nightmare!

By jose reaper on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 - 10:07

It would be very interesting to use the application on a Mac, since currently, there is no Telegram client accessible on a Mac.
