Strong's Concordance

Category

Description of App

From the App Store Strong's Concordance, is a concordance of the King James Bible (KJV) that was constructed under the direction of Dr. James Strong (1822–1894) and first published in 1890.A concordance lets the reader directly compare how the same word may be used elsewhere in the Bible. In this way Strong's Notes provides an independent check against translations, and offers an opportunity for greater, and more technically accurate understanding of the Bible text.Want to see it in action before you buy? Try Strong's Concordance Lite which provides a 100% functional demo of Matthew and Genesis. This program does not require internet access, everything you need is all stored on the iDevice.Features:* Search for English words, and lookup Greek/Hebrew dictionaries.* Proper concordance, listing how the word was translated in other bible verses.* Full King James Text is included* Click on any blue word for concordance text.* Night mode for those that like to read at night (White on black)* iPad supportPlease note: This version is not an "exhaustive" concordance, and does skip smaller words such as "and, or, the, a" as well as some other words. We're open to suggestions for improvement in future versions. Accessibility Comments

I was amazed to find that this app is accessible. Each word in the Bible is a link, which leads to the definition/translation of that word, so that one can learn what the word meant in Hebrew or Greek before it was translated to English. You can read the Bible by book, seeing each "defined" word as a link, you can use the search feature, or you can just view the concordance as if you were reading a dictionary. All features seem perfectly accessible.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

This is one of the most popular Bible study resources, and I've searched for it for years in Braille, on cassette, or in some other accessible format, to no avail. I'm genuinely surprised that such a comprehensive app would only cost $5. So much information in such a portable format makes this app invaluable!

I have the Strong's Light version. The links are not showing for me. Is this a time-sensitive app? Will these links show up when I get the full version? I have the iPhone 5. Thank you. Sharonda
I have an IPhone 4S, and I remember testing with the free version, and deciding the accessibility was good enough to chance the paid version. So I imagine the links will show up for you in the paid version, but since I don't have an IPhone 5, I can't say that for certain. I can only say the paid version is fully accessible with the IPhone 4S. All the word links show up for me and it's easy to navigate between the concordance and the Bible itself. Best of luck to you, and I hope the app will work for you, because it is priceless!
