Description of App

NOTE: Can only be used together with VoiceOver (for blind and partially sighted people).

VO Calendar is a weekly calendar specifically designed to be used with VoiceOver.

The result of this VoiceOver-only design is not only a smoother navigation through the app. It also makes it possible for the VoiceOver speech to give smart summaries depending on the context. This prevents you from having to go through each event
Individually.

Existing events are automatically synchronized. If you prefer not to type, you can record voice memos instead.

You can use VO Calendar with the VoiceOver gestures you are used to.

However, there is an even faster way. With the screen being split into two halves you can scan the right half of the screen with your right thumb. A single tap with your left thumb then is enough to activate the concerning function. After getting used to you will find out this helps you to browse through your calendar even quicker.

The left bottom always contains the ‘Return’ button so you can still reach it with your right thumb (being an L-shaped layout). At the top left you can always find a summary of the current screen content. In case you are left-handed you can swap left and right.

Note: If you have multiple calendars configured, VO Calendar will show all concerning events. New events will be assigned to your iPhone’s default calendar. Change the default calendar in: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Calendar.

VO Calendar is developed in cooperation with Royal Dutch Visio, Centre of Expertise for blind and partially sighted people (www.visio.org).

Accessibility Comments

This app was recently translated from Dutch to English, consequently in the current version, the word "button" uses the Dutch word for "button". In addition, there appeared to be some language jump between English and Dutch in the help screen when attempting to scroll with VoiceOver.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

Marked this app as being fully accessible with voiceOver: taking in to account the current language issues. By the way, its also $10.

Version 1.1.4 has fixed the recording problem with IOS7. All is now perfect again and I can record my customers details straight into the calendar from the answering machine again. Nice!

i just purchased this app and have found that the option of recording a memo is there but no longer works. when you press the record button you do hear the sound as if its recording but when you stop recording nothing actually gets recorded.
i have sent an email to the address of
support@vo-calendar.com
to report this issue but my email comes back undeliverable.
so be ware if you do make the purchase which by the way came down to $3.99.
thanks

I'll check the site but I wouldn't see how someone can't use the normal calendar, it's accessible. anyway refund it, no sense having an app you can't use. i spent ten bucks i'm getting back.

How would I go about changing this to my default calendar app? I don't see the option in Calendars or Mail.

In a day that has an event in VO Calendar, you will find more options. There you can interact with calendar options.

I clicked on the event day, double tapped on the event itself, found "more options", but found options for adding location and things like that, not to set the calendar as default. Am I missing something?

you will find: all day, start, end, travel time, repeat, and then the associated calendar. Double tap here, and you can choose from multiple calendars.

I looked. I don't see anything after that at all. Maybe it was broken with the latest update? The last thing i see is "end repeat".
