Accessibility Comments

This app is fully accessible with voiceover. All elements are correctly labeled, including the tabs, text fields, and Menus. If you use this keyboard to type, the keyboard buttons are not set as keyboard key traits, meaning that you cannot use your preferred typing mode, such as touch typing on the keyboard, though you probably will not be using the text entry keyboard part as this is mostly for dictation.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

There are a few things to note about this app. First, dictation is only 5 minutes on the free plan. If you are on the free plan, you can only dictate for 5 minutes, and then you will need to upgrade your plan. The 5-minute plan is daily, though, so if you used all your five minutes on Monday, it will reset and you will be able to use your five minutes on Tuesday, though you must use it wisely, as if I record for three minutes and then go to another app and dictate two more minutes a couple hours later, I've used my full five minutes. Unlike other dictation apps, this app does not give you any sort of sound when it stops or starts dictation, which for me is a minor annoyance. I prefer to have a sound or at least a vibration to let me know that dictation has started, but unfortunately there is no sound or vibration. In the settings, you can also change how long the app stays on for. This doesn't change how long you can record, as I have heard that if you have the full version, I believe you can record as long as an hour. This changes how long the app keeps your phone's microphone on. I would recommend that when you are finished dictating, you may want to close the app, as with iOS 27.2, when this app is open and running in the background, voiceover seems to crackle a little bit. If the app is closed and you tap the microphone button on the keyboard, this will open the app, where you will then have to swipe back to the app that you were trying to dictate in and hit the microphone button. Though this is an iOS limitation, the developer is unable to do anything about this because you need to actually go exit the app and back into your previous app in order to get the microphone working. Also, you cannot use the magic tap gesture to start or stop dictation, as that will actually use Apple's dictation, not koedesk. Also, in the dictionary tab, if you want to delete a word, you simply double tap the word you want to delete, which will give you a pop-up asking if you are sure. There is no voiceover hint letting you know that you can double tap a word to delete it. Overall, this seems to be my favorite dictation app so far. It is better than Whisper Flow. I also want to mention that it does take a little bit longer to process, but that's probably just because it's using a speech transcription model to process that.
