This sounds great. Do you know what the limitations are for the free version? If possible, that's information that would be helpful to have in the post. I actually used the image creator feature on the bing app. The only problem was that I couldn't isolate an image, discuss it, and make the changes with the program. I know this is for video, but if there are any similar applications for creating pictures as well, I would love to hear it.

I wonder if this could somehow make audio descriptions of videos that already exist

By Winter Roses on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

I can't seem to find the play button for a video that I have generated, and how do I export the video to my device? The options are there, well, I'm assuming they are there, but I can't find them.

I'm having an issue where, when playing back a video I generated, audio will play for three seconds, max, stop for a few second, then pick up again right where it left off. As my video progressed, this got even more painful, as the background music track and the voiceover started to stop and go at different times. Is anyone else seeing this?

By Gar on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

I was able to find the play button using screen recognition.

By Winter Roses on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

OK, when I click on export, it says that my video will be publicly available to anyone, Anonymous users, on the application. Is that's supposed to happen? It seems like a fairly new app, so that's why I'm asking. Also, thank you for the suggestion about using screen recording to navigate the app. I appreciate it. This application seems like it's pretty good. The problem is that it's hard to navigate a video to determine that what you have specified is what is actually happening on screen. Yes, I can take a screenshot, but that only tells me about that specific section from the image. I love the idea of the app, but the interface could be a little better. If the interface was less clunky, this could be a game changer, even for creating simple 30 second videos. As I mentioned in one of my previous comments, I had generated an image on the Bing image creator, and this was for a mini contest, and it actually came out really well. I don't think that anything can be done about this, but, yeah. It's hard to navigate the video and specifically decide what you don't want in the video. With some improvements, this can go a long way for us. It won't replace traditional help from a sighted person, but it is fun, and if you need to illustrate a point, it works. It's also possible to tell them how you want the video to be structured, such as close-up shots, wide angle shot, high altitude, or dynamic shot. You can even copy and paste an article and it will extract the relevant points and put them in the video along with stock images to Illustrate the point you're trying to make.
I'm not experiencing the bug where the audio is starting and stopping. I think you can only create four videos every week with the free version, so that's something to keep in mind.
I don't think that this app can generate descriptions for videos that already exist. I know that you can import your own media to add to a video, but I don't think this is supposed to use for creating audio description for existing content. I could be wrong though, so if that's the case, then somebody please correct me on that.

Indeed I don't think this app can generate audio describtions and its purpose is not that. But I think we need an app that can do it; Something for videos similar to what Be My AI does for pictures.

By Winter Roses on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

It's difficult to describe videos, because they are dynamic. There are so many things happening in a video, and that's why it's hard to generate audio descriptions for them. Maybe one day this will be a possibility, but that's not the case right now.

I got a weird message telling me that I needed FaceTime to use the app and I would have to reinstall to use.
Did this happen to anyone else? Is this normal?

Thanks

Hi, no I logged in via my Apple id and it did use face id and that was it. No idea what facetime has to do with it. Odd!

By Panais on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

This is actually why I posted about the application here. I must admit that my jaw dropped when I found out that videos can be created this way.
Still, it is totally inaccurate. My cited friends told me that the voiceover doesn’t actually match what is happening in the video. I told it to create a video about something, and the only thing it got right was the audio description. The video itself, while not off-topic, wasn’t even close to what was supposed to be happening.
Now about the last few comments, although I have Face ID enabled, it never asked me for it. Nor did it ask me to use FaceTime or something.

How do you even play the videos? I cannot find that.

By Brad on Thursday, March 7, 2024 - 22:53

Even then it's a bit fiddly.

I like the idea but I'd give it a year or so to be truly impressive, now it just sounds like something i'd put on in the background and forget about.

Guys this app is amazing, but the author of this post should change the accessibility label to “the app is fully accessible but the interface could be better” because I had problems to play my video and once i finally could play it, using screen recognition, then my video is in full screen and don’t know how to close it to return to the previous page, so it is not easy to navigate with voiceover and even with screen recognition activated.

I recommend it a lot as long as you could get away with the interface

By Winter Roses on Thursday, March 14, 2024 - 22:53

I love the idea of this application, but the interface is clunky. It's also very difficult to make changes. Even when you're generating photos, it's not easy to specify the changes. Not to go off-topic, but I use the Bing image creator for photos. Normally, you will get a sample of four different images, but since the interface can't actually view with pictures, you can't specifically tell the generator what to keep, and what to disregard. No matter how detailed the prompts are, it doesn't actually match up to the reality When you get the results. I would love to see this technology improve, because I feel like this is a game changer for self expression, comics, and creating mini videos. The technology is there for photos, but it's the same, to be honest. Maybe it's a little better with photos since it's a static image and not an entire video, but, yeah, we're not quite there yet. I would love to give feedback to the developers, and I have submitted something, so let's hope it goes somewhere. Again, love the idea, but the execution could totally be better.
