Accessibility Comments

This app now allows you to access all of its features with VoiceOver. Browsing articles, navigating to different sections, and reading content is accessible. However, there is something that indicates that it is "loading" and I'm not sure if that's an iAd or if it's actually part of the article I'm trying to read. Certainly, Fox News has made this app useable, and this is good to see.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver, but the interface could be easier to navigate and use.

The new update for Fox News has made it accessible to VoiceOver users. I was able to scroll through headlines, choose the stories I wanted to read, and read them fully with no problems. I can access all the different news sections, share and save articles, etc. I've only just updated it, so I'm sure there is more to discover, but I wanted to let everyone know this app is definitely accessible!

Although, the new version has come with a revamp of the UI. It also comes with some accessibility improvements as noted below in What's New. However, I still have issues with in the articles themselves. It seems rather strange how it works. For me swiping to the left and right I was not able to read the article. If one would touch the center where you think the article is. You will a portion of that article. Move your finger up or down and it will read that line just fine. Now doing a flick to the right or left will skip the entire article to the next or previous element.

Would love to hear in what others have found with this new version of the Fox News.

I was able to swipe into the article and VO read it fine except for reporting every "new line." However, when I paused speech and then did the swipe down to start it again it went from the top, which is what was visible on the screen. A vast improvement, but yes, still a little work is needed.

As of March26 version 2.02 was released. It is far more accessible with Voice Over. I don't like the waythe voice changes when you swipe down to read an article. But, at least the headlines, articles and content are now accessible. The weather seems to be easier to read and signing into my cable account to watch television is accessible. At long last this is a news app which is very usable.
