Other Comments

Using filters... energy, BPM, artists, I've found this app to make some pretty compelling mixes. Is it as groundbreaking as an experienced DJ? No, and I'm not sure it ever will be. What I can say is that it's really good at finding song highlights.

New in 3.3.3:
- Bug fixes

New in 3.3:
- Listening history
- Accessibility support
A lot of stuff in the app has accessibility associated with elements now, E.G. VoiceOver now tells you when highlight mode is selected, as well as discovery. The developer tells me more bugfixes related to accessibility are coming and it looks like things will be swiftly moving along here. I plan on doing a podcast on this app ASAP.

I wondered how much control you have over transitions? if the transitions can allow songs to be cross faded or overlap? Or if this is something it will ever support? That's the one thing about streaming apps that I wish they would do, and can you control how long both songs stay together?
Also, what are the limitations to the Apple music support at this time? I know it's limited tracks, but they didn't really explain why, or what other features won't work. I will absolutely pay $39 for the annual subscription because this is the coolest AI mixing app I have ever seen. I love the way the developer responds to reviews and feedback. Thanks Orinks for helping them make this accessible, and especially for making that podcast. It was not too long, it was great! Wish you had given us your contact information. Those guys should get some kind of award. You can automate amazing work out playlists with the BPM options. Not sure if there is anything else out there that will do what this does and is accessible.

Hi Reginald,
I wasn't thinking about my contact information during the podcast; I was aggravated with screen recording and the amount of lag that was taking away focus of actually recording.
My contact information:

Twitter is the same as here.
About controlling when the crossfades happen, it depends on the song. If the AI thinks it picked an epic transition, you can't change/move it. Sometimes though, there will be buttons to change the transition so that its a minute or two early than the AI's enitial time, or later.
This also depends on whether you have the subscription, as highlights are the best for mixing and keeps it going as a mix. I think that's what you mean about crossfades staying together.
Regarding Apple Music, I'm not sure since I use Mixonset primarily with Spotify.
HTH.

Hi,
I just started using Mix Onset. I don't have any music streaming services, because the music I have is mostly all too rare to be found on any of those, with the exception of youtube maybe, but that's neither here nor there, lol. Anyway, I have about 3900 songs on my iPhone local music library. Every time I do a new smart mix, it reanalyzes the songs, but it says for example, "analyzing 200 of 999 songs". I did subscribe to the full version of mix onset, so why is it only saying 999 songs when I clearly have almost 3900? I think this app will be a lot of fun, once I figure it out. Also, with local music, can you like or save songs to new playlists?

By Orinks on Monday, October 24, 2022 - 08:14

The reason why it says 200 out of however manysongs you have is because with smart mix, there are filters set for energy and possibly even BPM. Since the whole point is to create a mix in one tap, you can't change that. You can also save mixes as individual playlists by going to options > save mix to playlist although I'm not sure if you can do that with local music. I don't see why you couldn't though.

Hi folks.

I downloaded the Mixonset app about a year ago and I loved it. Only thing that put me off though was the app kept crashing. I just recently gave it a second chance and restored my subscription.

So far touchwood it hasn’t crashed. when I emailed the developer at the time when I first downloaded the app, they said it was because I was running out of storage on my phone. I was just wondering what the ’ clear storage’ button does? Does that just wipe mixes or does it wipe actual songs off the device? i’m hoping that it doesn’t wipe songs off as I think it’s a bit of a hassle for me to download them again. any help and advice with this would be great please?! Thanks!

I've never had this problem, which is why I stream my music on a music service. The best thing I could recommend is to try and clear storage as I think it only clears cache data, not the songs themselves.

Thank you Orinks for that! I feel more confident now about trying it.

I’ll give it a go!
