Accessibility Comments

Most of the app is accessible surprisingly. You can pick the city you are interested in either by enabling your location tracking, or by choosing the city manually. You can also have multiple cities available if you choose. The Home screen breaks up the deals into catagories, making it easy to find what you want and completely accessible. The beginning screen of each catagory , similar to the latest release of Groupon's app, only clicks as you swipe across each deal and does not read the deal until you advance to the next screen. There's a work around I use in another app that might work here I will explain shortly. Once you double-tap the deals, they load quickly and are easily read using the reading and navigation functions. The purchasing center is also completely accessible as I bought my first one through this app this week. Your credit card can be stored for future use if you choose. You can also lock the app so if you are concerned about someone logging onto your phone and buying things they cannot get to the stored credit card. The "My Vouchers" section is a little strange. You can see what deals you have purchased and it will read how far away the business is from your current location. In order to actually be able to read what the deal is however, you must double-tap the miles and then a screen which voiceover is able to read without a problem is displayed. This is quite strange and could be mildly annoying if you have a lot of deals previously purchased. It lists deals that you bought both through the app as well as through the website if you receive LivingSocial.com emails. Currently mine lists all the deals I have ever bought so I am wondering if you can get rid of these somewhere. I shall investigate and update as I find the answer. There's a few unmarked buttons within the app but they do not appear to be all that important since I have been able to see and buy things without their use. It is also unclear how their notifications work as I haven't received them in my Notification Center yet. If it works like Groupon, you can look at your Notification Center each day to see what the deal of the moment is, rather than having to open the full app and double tap each box. This is the work around I use in Groupon since their Featured Deal page is also not accessible in the latest release. I would be interested to see if others find this work around useful, so please comment if you try it. Note: I sent the support page on 9/4/2012 and will post upon their response.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Other Comments

Overall, I think this app is pretty user-friendly and simple to use. I would recommend it for anyone who likes to get deals on local entertainment, beauty care, dining out, and getaways. This is also useful if you are traveling and want to save a bit of money on local attractions since you can look at many different cities and metro areas without needing to be physically present in them.
