Accessibility Comments

The app is currently completely inaccessible with VoiceOver. However, I have been able to play it to a reasonable extent on iPad with my limited vision, and I think that the nature of the game is such that it could be made to work with VoiceOver if the developer is willing to put the work in to it. It is a puzzle game that involves moving numbered tiles around a grid. Currently even the menus etc. are not visible to VoiceOver.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads no page elements.

Button Labeling

No buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is totally inaccessible.

Other Comments

This is a fun and addictive game. So I hope we can convince the developer to consider accessibility.

I was really hopeful when I heard about this game on twit. Its really highly praised by mainstream tech people and it seems like it would be very easy to make this game accessible. I was very disappointed when I opened the app and it was totally inaccessible.

Yes I emailed the developer yesterday and hope others will do so too. I got the following response within a couple of hours: Hi David! Thank you for the suggestion! It is very likely that this will happen in the future :) -Asher

After hearing several podcasts rave how fun this game is, I decided to try it on my iPad. Unfortunately it doesn't work with VoiceOver yet, but I have enough vision to easily play the game. All the tiles have great contrast and large numbers. Low vision gamers should give this one a look. After becoming addicted for a couple hours last night, I am definitely going to contact the developer as well to request VoiceOver accessibility. I could see Threes! being very playable for a blind user.

Well, that's promising. Maybe link them to this thread as well so that they can see the comments regarding to the accessibility or lack thereof in the game. Tae care all.
