start game screen
So I like the game, but same issue as I seen in Joker Poker Texas Frenzy. What's up with the screen after you start a new game, confusing Not so accessible! More over, I can't tell what's doing what when I hit next year button. once more, can you not move your symbols? Or do you have to pick ones you want in order.
re: start game screen
Hey! thanks so much for trying the game and for your feedback. I'll send it to the developer and I'm sure he will improve the start screen.
Basically the start screen allow you to choose either a medieval or cyberpunk story, as well as access the next difficulty levels if you have unlocked them for the current selected story.
When you choose the next year the wheel spins and changes the order of the symbols, the same way as a slot machine, but it doesn't let you move the symbols individually.
However, after spinning the wheel you can add a new symbol to the bag, increasing the chances of a synergy between the symbols in your machine.
if you want to learn more about this mechanic I recommend reading about the luck by a landlord game, because the slot machine part of the game works the same.
There's a luck factor involved, but if you play and learn you will definitely understand how the synergies work.
I also recommend not enabling the DLC at first, because the first standard symbols are enough to get started.
and i thought this was thoroughly tested
well it clearly hasn't, this game been supposedly thoroughly tested, forget the marketing for this game, if the original poster had supposedly ensured every screen was accessible the start screen clearly wasn't so i suggest making sure what is stated, is true.
re: Karok
Thanks for the encouragement and the constructive feedback. I'm sure that your iOS device is completely free of bugs and Voiceover works perfectly 100 percent of the time without any issues.
As I said in a previous message, the developer is already aware of the start screen and is already working on it to update both this game and his other game: Joker Poker.
If you really want to learn how to play the game, you could definitely mess with the start screen and put some effort to try to understand that it's just possible to press the start game button once again to go to the talent screen.
But instead of doing that it's better to come here and criticize my testing. nothing in life is perfect. it get better as we learn.
I haven't received any money for the game. I bought the ad removal both on iOS and Android to support this developer and exchanged emails for many weeks with him, I'm just being grateful for the opportunity to play these mainstream games on my iOS device.
The gameplay itself is perfectly playable.
A Little Grace Goes a Long Way
Hi all,
The usability rating of this app has been updated based on the above comments.
While we do appreciate people highlighting concerns about the accuracy of information on the site, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that outside of those paid to monitor and keep the site running, people submit content to AppleVis purely on a voluntary basis. No one knowingly posts inaccurate information. Believe it or not, people have different opinions of what "fully accessible" means; for example, we have seen where some reviewers do not mark an app down in usability when there are button labeling issues. All that to say, when critiquing another's submissions, please always keep in mind that they are volunteering their time to contribute to AppleVis--time they could be spending on something else. If all a person gets is criticism, they may just walk away.
Thank you Matheus
Although I havenβt yet downloaded this game, thank you for posting it and working to improve itβs accessibility.
I am grateful as always.
thanks so much Michael and Panais
Thanks for all the encouragement and awesome support to continue bringing new games and updates to this community. I've been doing it for more than 10 years and will always continue to do so when I have time available.
My main purpose is to be able to help influence the future of gaming for our community, with research and testing. and like I said many times already, it feels like I'm a part of the building process, and the end result always motivates me to search for new challenges and opportunities.
Thanks as well for updating the usability rating based on the above comments.
My Take on the Mechanics
So what I'm getting out of this is that you spin the wheel and add a symbol to your bag. That "bag" makes up the contents of the "machine" that get "spun" onto the board, and how they land on the board determines how each symbol functions on any given turn. So each turn, you get the amount of coins that particular spin gives you. So at first, there's little you can get, as you only have so many bagged symbols. But as the game progresses, you have more symbols in your bag and thus more combinations you can get. I used to think adding symbols each round would put them on the board, thus making there be no point in adding symbols after the bag was full, but some of the conversation on here leads me to the concept that it's the bag that gets added to, not the board itself. Just thought I'd offer this up in case anyone else was unclear on that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
re: Tarren van Ettinger
Hey Tarren! thanks for the awesome explanation of the mechanics. that's exactly how the game works. at first it's good to try to fill the board so that you can at least win as many coins as possible, but as you progress you will need to remove unwanted symbols so that those that have better synergies and interactions have a higher chance of landing close.
In later stages you will also skip many symbols to only add ones that give you more advantage.
It's a game that you can only get better by playing more, but there's definitely strategy involved. Hope you're having fun with it.
In previous versions of the app the game had a tutorial explaining everything when you launched it for the first time. I'm sure that the developer will fix it for future versions as well so that new players have a better understanding of the gameplay when starting for the first time.
This is cool
I like this. Thank you for explaining the game because I had no idea at firft. And yes, the tutorial is back I think. STILL took some time to understand but now that I know how it works a little bit... But how do you add or remove symbols?
