Blindfold Dominoes

Category

Description of App

Blindfold Dominoes is a fully accessible Dominoes tile game for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play.

Blindfold Dominoes comes with a blocking game, where you and up to 3 computer opponents each place a matching domino on the table until one player runs out of tiles, or no one can move. The winner get the points of the losing players tiles.

You can customize the game to your liking: how much extra information is spoken and how quickly it is spoken, how many sound effects are used amongst other things. And you can post your high scores to Twitter or Facebook.

Blindfold Dominoes was suggested by several blind gamers who enjoyed Blindfold Hearts and Blindfold Hopper.

There is a STARTER PACK in-app upgrade that unlocks all advanced features and lets you play as much as you want. We will be creating variations of dominoes in the future.

This so far seems like a fun game. However I can't quite understand why I can't play some tiles when it seems like I an. I read the rules but the game still confuses me to no end. I guess I'll get the hang of it. It's been about 20 years since iv'e played a real game.

Hi! I installed Blindfold Dominoes yesterday and >I'm really enjoying playing it: maybe it helps that I'm not out of practice, as I also play dominoes on the computer; As regards playing tiles, you can only play a domino if one of its numbers is at the end of the line of dominoes already played: for example, if there's a 2 at the left-hand end of the line of played dominoes and a 6 at the right-hand end, you can only play a domino where 2 or 6 is one of its numbers, otherwise you have to pass to your opponent, in this version anyway; If you play all your dominoes and your opponent doesn't, you win the sum of the number of spots on their dominoes, so if they are left with a double 2 you'd get four points at the end of the round. If you are still confused and have more questions, post here and I'm sure someone can help you out.

Blind Dominos is a great game. I know you can pass on a round and draw tiles. Where are those buttons. I can't find them.

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - 16:52

To pass double tap with 2 fingers. Draw is not one of the options, at least I didn't see it in the well written user guide on how to play.

Take care

We will add several more variants to dominoes in the next month or so.

I bought the starter pack, so do I need to do anything to activate those, or will they just show up when the update is released?

Take care.

Once you buy the starter pack, the features of the pack should be available, including unlimited play. What are features are you expecting that you don't have?

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 - 16:52

I meant when the variatons re released do I need to do anything to activate them? Actually all I see is unlimited play but I've only played the games at 2 am when I can't sleep lol!

I have the starter pack, but I can't figure out how to draw tiles from the bone yard. Is there no way to do this because it said I could in help?

Blocking dominoes doesn't draw from the boneyard. Once I finish up getting wildcard and crazy 8 to be multi-player, instead of the 2 player game that it is now, I will add more dominoes varieties and make it multi player.

Ah I didn't know this. Actually I have not played this game for real since I was a kid. I can't remember if we drew or not. Lol! This should be fun. I like the fact this is quick and I can play whis while trying to sleep. Lol!

Take care.

Hello. I noticed 1 bug. There is no starter pack in app upgrades, but when i want to try playing 3 players game, it says that i must purchase it.

There were one or two problems in the latest dominoes. I just submitted a new version today that should solve that. It usually takes about a week.

Have tried most of the Blindfold Games. All work well however, my only dislike of the Games is that to play you have to turn off Apple's VoiceOver and use the Voices that come with the Games. This causes major battery drain as when you turn off VoicOver your Screen then comes on. Would be much better if the Games worked directly with Apple's VoiceOver instead of using the additional voices.

You should not have to turn off voice over. All of the games use direct touch and the text-to-voice system.
The games now allow you access to the voices on the phone - apple finally allowed that with ios9.
You can use voice over now in some of the newer games. We added that for people who use braille readers.
However, when you use voice over like that, the games are less responsive, since we cannot stop voice over from talking.

As a totally blind user I find this game extremely accessible however, I can't seem to download or listen to those free upgrade videos very often. Any ideas on why?
