Accessibility Comments

the game is accessible from the ground up, so you can customise the way you steer, either by tilting the device or touching the left and right part of the screen. voiceover support is fantastic with the use of the unity accessibility plugin, you can even play with bluetooth headphones, there's a way to allow you to play to compensate for the lag with a low or high latency. i also recommend the use of a controller due to the great vibration patterns

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

the game has a really funny and engaging storyline not to be taken serious. the sound design is one of the best for an audio game, i really recommend it, although it's just a two button gameplay, it puts you in different situations to be interesting.
also available for windows, mac and android

Hi.
A few years ago there was a video on youtube with a game play which seams very similar with the game description here.
The game was available as a beta on android.

The story was interesting, the sounds were amazing but there was one level which the driver had to hit people in the street including small babies.

Even if this game is consider black comedy, I think this is a red line for me and I can't hear even in a game play babies being hit by a blind driver.
I don't know if this level is still present here. If yes I would like to know and of course I will never buy this game.
Nikos

I got to a point where I had to hit people that were shooting at me. I'm still struggling my way through, but no babies so far.

Thanks a lot for the info. I hope they removed it because it was over the limit in my opinion.

By DMNagel on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Sometimes when you swipe through the options, it doesn't read the entire element. It will read a sentence and skip to the next sentence before finishing the first. I hope my explanation made sense. Other than that, it was good and I just managed to finish it.

There is still a level where you need to hit random pedestrians. Although I didn't hear any babies, I did hear one person screem: "my baby!"
Just thought I'd put it out there in case.

I have to say and all my time playing audio games, I have never encountered a racing game like this. It’s kind of neat. One movie that comes to mind when playing this, is the fast and the furious. Although I’m not sure if that movie has anything to do with racing cars on the level that this game does anyways I will be doing an episode on this game for my podcast. And I will paste the link it once it’s done.

I also have the game. I will be recording my views as well and adding the voiceovers through title cards as that for me is easier, plus I can't find my headphones for iOs.

So since we are both doing the same thing more or less, I had an idea how about we collaborate in a sense? What I mean is, would you be interested being a guest on my show? It’s called the audio games buffet. My podcast consists around demonstrations of games and discussions about audio games. You can reply here, or I believe you can send me a private message through my profile. I am also on clubhouse.

We'll see what happens. I normally do not work with other poeple as I'm not good with that. lol! I down right suck at it. but we'll see. I plan to do my first live haps stream of it tomorrow which might become the podcast. Here is a link to the post where you can leave your comments and questions, and maybe subscribe to me for 100 coins. Hmm, maybe if I get enough rewards I might try and play buzzed on one of my streams. Lol!

Hi! I started playing Blind Drive yesterday, and, even though it took me a while to get the hang of it in spite of the simple gestures, I like it so far. I admit I'm not always good at obeying orders, I might avoid someone the man giving the orders wants me to hit, and it's a game which needs good concentration to avoid being hit by some other vehicle, but, like someone else in this thread, I can say that I have never played a racing game like this one. OK, the humour might not be everyone's cup of tea, I understand that, but the audio is excellent, plus it has a bit of a story, and I'm glad I bought this game.

This game is absolutely fantastic. I have downloaded many games for the iPhone over the years but none is good is this it is absolutely amazing there is only one other game that is as good as this but in a different category altogether and that is the untold RPG game so this year is looking like a fantastic year for accessible games for us all

There is a level similar but it doesn't involve hitting babies.

By Matthew Whitaker on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I love this game so much. Even when the beta was leaked a while back. Hope it continues to get updates in the future. :-)

By Samuel J on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I finished this game. It was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed it. Best game with an emursive audio experience I have played in quite some time. I hope more updates and future chapters are released.

By Clare Page on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

It could be a while before I finish this game, judging by my game-play yesterday evening. By then I was pretty good at avoiding other vehicles, but, ever since I started the level where the GPS is introduced, I can't stop crashing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I guess I simply need more practice at either turning enough or reacting more quickly to the GPS.

By DrummerGuy on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Thank you for developing such a great game.
I am totally happy to be able to play it.
This is just awesome.

By brandon armstrong on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Hi, I need to say this here and now. for that person who doesn't like the level where you run people over can't you tell the difference between commidy and seriousness? seriously? it's people like you who drive me crazy in this community your a snowflake who can't handle good audio games. if you don't like the game, instead of telling us how you don't like a level don't play the game.

By Erick on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Well guys I just beat the game already. Oh man, wish their was more to this. I had so much fun while it lasted, and still do. Especially the way bullets are handled in the game, you actually have to Dodge them. Their should be an endless mode or hell, even online mode where people can use bullets to shoot cars, and that ice cream power, oh man. Sounds like fun to me. And running people over just adds to the chaotic comedy. This is satire. If you don't like it, then don't play the game!

Anyway, this game really needs more support.

By David Standen on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I also really love this game. I downloaded the IOS version yesterday but haven't completed it yet. However, I also have the mac version and completed it yesterday. The only thing missing from this game is an endless mode.

By SmoothJazzyTrumpet on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I love this game it’s a great game but I am stuck on level seven about the window but it’s a fun game! If this had an award it would have to make number one on the golden apples award in my opinion.

By David Standen on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I agree with the last post. I just completed the IOS version of the game, on easy. I love the fact there is a leaderboard as well.

By Erick on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I agree with you there. Also, endless mode should really be an option. What I'm thinking is you could make a thing where you can run over people, or ram them, and then may be at a certain point you can fight a boss or something, and see what score you get. I don't know, just my opinion.

By Brandi on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

So I downloaded the app, opened it and it says something to the effect of “You must use headphones with this game. Double tap to continue.” So, because I’m wearing my Bluetooth headphones, I double tap but nothing happens. I’ve swiped around, tapped in various places and all I hear is “Direct touch area.” I’ve turned off Voiceover, closed and re-opened the app, deleted and re-downloaded the app... To no avail. I’m running the latest version of iOS on an iPhone SE 2020. Any tips on how I can start playing? I really want to play this game!

Hi, this is an issue on iOs and Voice Over. Inorder to solve this addgast tha" Rotor to" Direct touch" and turn it on this app.

By KE7ZUM on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

turn off voiceover. I normally play these games with vo off.

By glassheart on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Yes, everyone, it's me, I did take a few months hiatus from Applevis just to unwind and get away from some of the social media noise, but nonetheless, I'm here again now, and I digress.

Wow! I genuinely hope that there is no point in the game as mentioned before.

The fact however that you have to hit random pedestrians even as adults, I'm sorry but that's sick! Absolutely pervertedly sick! It breaks my heart to absolute pieces to think that any developer would do something like that. It's one thing in my view if the game is a ficticious fighting type game designed with this purpose, but when you're dealing with a totally different objective, yet just totally passer-by's in general are supposed to randomly for no good reason be hit by your car? I'm gonna call it what it is, ficticious game or not! That's murder! Period! That alone is enough that I will absolutely not under any conditions be purchasing this game, infants getting hit or not, notwithstanding. I greive deeply for anyone who does get this game and thinks I need to lighten up as it's just a game. Randomly hitting people in the street is a game? That's news to me. Tell that to a judge, and see what he or she says to you. I guarantee they won't find it funny as a game.

Enough said. I don't want my first post after rejoining to start up any drama up here, but this is not something as a christian that I can hold back from. That's just downright sick, and I will make that very well known.

By Erick on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I have to agree. But do you know what that is called? Satire.

By Matthew Whitaker on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

In reply to by SmoothJazzyTrumpet

I agree that it should receive a Golden Apple Award.

By Brandi on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I was finally able to get it working. It needed the absolute latest update. I thought my phone had grabbed the update and automatically updated itself but turns out that all it did was download it. So far I’m having a blast although my reflexes aren’t as good as I’d like them to be. The more I practice, the better I get. I’m at the spot where his car goes faster and that’s throwing me off but I’m sure I’ll get past this part eventually. Hoping to get my husband to play it.

By Clare Page on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I don't know whether some of you who have played Blind Drive have finished the game in one sitting, but I haven't been able to do that, and I don't know how long it'll take me to finish the game. Every so often I come to a level which seems impossible to complete, so I have to stop, but then I try it later and manage to compete it. In other words, don't give up when you get stuck on a level, keep practising and you'll complete it in the end.

By KE7ZUM on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

It took me about 2 hours to complete it, 2 hours in total this over 2 days. The endign is quite interesting.

By Jo Billard on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

My reflexes are pretty slow due to medications, but if practice is working for others, it might for me. I was concerned about the violence and such, but it sounds like a great way to work off frustration.

By Borostar on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

This is a great game and I think it could be expanded to the point where you can compare it to GTA. It's about time we had the opportunity to play a game that is equivalant to a mainstream title. My thanks goes out to the author of this title but I do wish devs wouldn't put the word blind in their game titles as it's cringy.

By charles on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

In reply to by Borostar

Firstly, to those who find parts of the game based on religion, if you bring this to a judge? Really? It would be thrown out of court, and so would you. If you have problems differentiating a game from reality, go spend your money at the office of a psychiatrist rather than playing games. Secondly, to those who don't like the use of the word "blind" in the description, let's be honest: Should the game be listed as a game for the "sighted"? The word "blind" is exactly what you are when you play this game, isn't? Really, people, THINK!! This is a good game so far. The suggestion of an endless play mode is a good one.

By Firefly on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I have not beaten the game yet. But as much as I lose all my lives, I never get tired of playing. For some reason like I’ve said before, this game reminds me of the previews for the fast and furious movies. Which also reminds me I need to start watching those movies. Hopefully they have audio description! I also have to say, that I think my favorite cut scene in the game so far is the first one where the cat meows and the guy on the other end of the phone is like oh I got a feed the cats! LOL

By Nikos on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

Hi all and thanks to those who answered my question.
For me as long as there are not small babies in the pedestrians then it's fine.
I found some game plays on youtube and I was able to hear this level myself.
I am going to buy it on ios, windows or both.
Nikos

LOL!!!
I want to leave the car and embark on new adventures.
Maybe steal a new car and even shoot the owner if he or she refuses to give me the car LOL
Endless mode would be great and adding features to make it GTA for the blind is even more awesome.
I'm willing to pay quite a lot to play such a game.

By Jo Billard on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

The more I read about this, the more appealing it sounds. I also don't see the big deal about calling it blind cdriver. That's what the driver is, after all, and personally, I'm not ashamed to identify as a blind person.

By Siobhan on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

David Woodbridge did a great job on a podcast on his site about this. The blind drive thing, I can take or leave the comment about not identifying as blind, though I think it's overused absolutely. The other thing is hitting people is wicked awesome. I wonder if I should hit the ambulance, who'd die first, patient if one, or paramedics? I mean come on bringing religious beliefs into this? Yeah no thanks. Only reason I wouldn't get this game is because i'm terrible at using touch turns like that. Let's see what happens. Keep killing people. Lmao.

By DMNagel on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

If I'm not mistaken, I believe you can choose between tapping or tilting your device.

HI. You could play the game by tapping and holding the left and right sides of the screen. You could also change that mode so you can turn your device left and right.

By Matthew Whitaker on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

In reply to by DMNagel

Yeah that's correct... the game offers two modes.

By KE7ZUM on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I beat the game in just under an hour and a half. I used the tilt method. I won't ay it was easy, but it was fun. I'jm working on converting the over 12 gig screen recording I made into something a bit more usable.

By Ornella on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 11:21

I am a horrible driver. Lol but I will keep practicing. Question. Can we do anything with the points or do we need a certain amount to unlock the next chapter? This game reminds me of top speed on windows but way better.

No, points are just their for, I don't know. Anyway, yeah, I beat the game already. It is way better then topped, hope their is an endless mode to this game.
