Accessibility Comments

AppleVis Editorial Team Note: As of 2.3.2. This app doesn't appear to be fully accessible as it originally had been. Please note down in the Comment area of the current problems with this app. Original Poster: This app works very well with VoiceOver. I have in fact placed and tracked an order on my iPod 4th Gen. When you fill in your order details such as name, address, etc., you will then find yourself on the order details screen. From there just double tap on the button labeled correct and you will get to the screen which has the store icon button, menu button and coupon button. There is also a text field which lists food and beverage, tax and deposit and there amounts, plus delivery. Swiping to the right you will then find a checkout button another text field which lists the total amount of your order. The order tracking feature is also read very well by VoiceOver. It told me right when the pizza was out the door and, sure enough, a minute or so after that, I was buzzed from downstairs. Very cool!

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

I found this app to be very accessible. However, one of the features that mighte be confusing is when you're choosing delivery or carryout, the unlabeled button brings you to a "store profile" page, with the address, phone number, and delivery and carryout hours of that store. The other possible point of confusion is the store icon, which is actually a button. Double-tapping it brings up a menu where you can access features such as the pizza tracker.

I am using version 1.5.0 (The November 1, 2012) release of this app and have not encountered the pick up or delivery confusion described in this comment. It would appear this issue has been resolved! The app works very well, one of the most accessible food delivery apps I have ever encountered. When you are building your own pizza, you can easily select if you want a topping on the whole pizza or just on the left or right side. Once you add an item to your order, you must select the edit button in order to remove that item from your order. Finally, if you are looking to save some dough, the coupon wizzard is great! No need for paper coupons, just select the deal you want and follow the steps needed to fill the order. Oh yes, and there crunchy chocolate lava cakes are amazing! If you have a domino's Pizza in your neighborhood, I highly recommend! Jim
From a fat user, I'd like to say this is a phat app. LOL. I have also not encountered the issues listed above, and was able to successfully place more orders than I care to count. I love it, because braille support is also superb, which means I can place the order without struggling to understand the speech of VoiceOver. Probably not something of major importance to most people on here, but it is to me. I also highly recommend this one.

I had a chance to use the app this summer and wow does it work grate. I don't have an account with dominos as I barrel eat pizza, I'd rathe crook it myself, hoes ever if I need a pizza the app is superb and it tells you what's going on with it. It's ver cool and I recommend for those that have one near by to try it.

I don't use this app, but would first like to report that the Developer Website link mentioned here produces a 404 error. Now to my comments. I have not yet been to the Dominos website, other than for a brief glance but I was at my folks' house not long ago and we had ordered from our local Dominos location. I happened to be in the same room when my mom checked the Pizza Tracker from her desktop PC. I noticed that the animation did speak, and she commented that it looked pretty neat. My mom does not use a screen reader, but it's good that this app is at least accessible on the iphone. I briefly checked out their website and it looks pretty accessible too. I'm planning to check it out in more detail when I have more time, but their pizza is excellent imho. Definitely agree about the Lava Cakes too!

Has anyone noticed tha you have to now explore by touch to get the items like first name, last name to show up? My BF ordered pizza and had to have someone help him as not all of the fields according to him showed up such as first, last, credit card, etc. I remember the last time I used this app that you could flick to and double tap the fields like before, at least the last time was in august of this year. Anyone shed light on this?

Take care.

The tracker also no longer appears to show updated order information, and there are several mislabeled buttons. I know it's the app, because I have an older version of the same app on my iPod, and everything functions as it should on that odler version.

I can confirm the bug from my last post on the thread. here is a clip of what happens. If anyone can get hold of these guys that would be fantastic. I'd change the usability rating if I were you until this is fixed as you kind of cannot complete your order as all of the fields don't show up.

Certainly doesn't focus on all fields. The corporate phone is 734-930-3030.

Hey,
For anyone who wants to order using a speech interface, like when you call the pizza places, click the "nina invoke" button. It gives you a virtual siri-like dominos orderring system. it's pretty awesome, if you ask me.
