Description of App
The most simple and elegant tea timer on the App Store. Just choose the type of tea you wish to steep and press start. Don't waste time scrolling through endless lists of teas you don't have or reading the history of infusions you don't care about. This app will let you know when your tea has reached perfection, and nothing more.
Accessibility Comments
The app is very simple and easy to use. When you open it, you arrive in the timer screen where you'll find the selected tea type, information about its steeping time and temperature and how much time is left until it's finished steeping. At the bottom of the screen, you find three buttons; "Start", "Choose tea" and "Info". Double-tap start to start the timer countdown for the selected tea, head into "choose tea" to select which type of tea you want to brew and check the "info"-section for rating the app, contacting the developer, selecting your preferred temperature scale and viewing current app version. All buttons are clearly labelled and respond to double-tapping. All editing of text or times/temperatures goes through the keyboard - no sliders, pickers or combo-boxes here.
It's also very easy to select the tea types in the "choose tea"-section. It comes with 6 standard selections: Black tea, darjeeling, green tea, herbal tea, Oolong, Rooibos and white tea. A simple double-tap will select your preferred tea type and bring you back to the timer screen. Just press start and you'll have a nice cup of tea in no time.
You can easily edit the time and temperature for all of the pre-added teas or delete them altogether. You can also add your own list of teas, perhaps based on the names and types of the teas you have at home so you will know exactly how long and at which temperature to brew your Indian Chai, Milky Oolong, Honeybush or White Earl Grey.
Please note: Unless you have the app open (i.e. if you run it in the background or have locked your screen), the timer only alerts you with the standard Tri-tone rather than an alarm, so remember to check your phone when you hear it lest your tea gets too strong. If you stay in the app, it'll alert you with a gong-sound until you either reset the timer or leave the app via the home-button.
