Description of App

ASB Mobile Banking

ASB Mobile has been redesigned to offer a simpler and easier mobile banking experience with innovative new features and much more.

Now it’s possible to pay anyone using only an email address, mobile number or your Facebook friends list (as well as the old-fashioned bank account number). Basically, that means you can now pay anyone you like, anywhere you are, anytime you want.

And there are plenty of other great features too. ‘Quick Balance’ lets you view a designated account balance without logging in, and the optional 5-digit PIN makes logging in faster and easier than ever. There’s an ATM & Branch locator as well plus Transfers, Bill Payments and Foreign Exchange rates all from your iPhone.

To use the ASB Mobile app, you need to be registered for FastNet Classic (ASB internet banking) and NetCode. Please call 0800 MOB BANK (0800 662 226) to register for either.

Accessibility Comments

Some of the app is accessible, but it is very poor in some areas.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

Other Comments

Features such as checking your account balances and locating the nearest ATM work well. However, many of the financial transaction functions such as transferring between accounts, and paying someone, are problematic at best. Rather than a couple of pickers to specify the account to transfer from and two, all accounts are listed twice on the screen and it is difficult to work out which you have selected. When you do select two accounts, a special kind of keyboard for entering dollar amounts is presented, which appears not to respond to VoiceOver.
